Veteran’s Park: Veteran's Park in Staples is a place that honors and remembers the individuals who have defended their nation and community. It’s located on the south side of Highway 10, with a beautiful memorial. There is also an 80 foot flag pole that flies a 20 by 30 foot American flag. Dower Lake Recreational Area: Dower Lake Recreational Area is located 2 miles west of Staples on Highway 10. Highlights of Dower Lake include Minnesota’s Longest Fishing Pier, a disc golf course, softball fields, a basketball court, a swimming beach, sand volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, a picnic shelter, and a 45 unit campground. Staples Community Center: The Staples Community Center is a great place to take part in fitness activities. The center offers lap swimming, aquacise, adult swimming lessons, infant and preschool aquatics, volleyball leagues, and a fitness center. Living Legacy Gardens: Living Legacy Gardens is a 10 acre public garden with a goal of serving the horticultural needs of the people of Minnesota. Located at the Central Lakes Agriculture Center, these gardens offer a serene spot to relax. The garden contains annuals, perennials, shrubs, herbs, fruits, vines, trees, and native plants.
